IMAGIC VAMPIRE puts you in the cape of the town's oldest resident.
- **The night.**
- Stalk the streets of a Victorian town: rows of houses, lamp-lit lots, the graveyard and its gate. Knock on the
doors, lure the townsfolk out and catch them for a bite.
- Your blood runs low as the night goes on. Each victim restores it and scores.
- Every night needs more victims than the last.
- When the first light shows at 5:00, it is time to fly home. Miss the sunrise and the game is over.
- **The dangers.** The town fights back:
- constables patrol with wooden stakes that stop you cold;
- a wolf runs you down and slows you for the rest of the night;
- take to the sky as a bat and a vulture hunts you.
- **Zombies.** Bite a victim the other way, and they rise as your servant, a Zombie that walks the streets and deals with
a constable for you.

Built for the ColecoVision from the ground up:
- **Graphics:** a smoothly scrolling town drawn for the ColecoVision's graphics chip, moonlight and lightning, a dawn
that creeps over the rooftops, and daylight at the end.
- **Sound:** the game's music and effects on the ColecoVision's own sound chip.
- **Speech:** optional spoken announcements with the speech module.

**Features:**
- The whole night-time hunt: victims, knocks at the doors, bites, blood, the crypt and the sunrise.
- Man or bat: walk the streets or fly over the rooftops.
- Constables and their stakes, the wolf, the vulture, and Zombies you make yourself.
- Night after night, each one harder, with EASY, MEDIUM and HARD skill levels.
- One player, two players taking turns, or two players at once.
- Lightning, a rising moon, the dawn and the daylight.
- Opening and closing title screens with music.
- A demo that plays by itself at the menu [D11].
- Optional speech with the speech module: the night's announcements, HURRY HOME at 5:00, BLOOD LOW, GAME OVER.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Imagic Vampire began as a forensic study of the original Intellivision cartridge: every actor, rule, sound and street block was mapped from the ROM itself. The game was then written from scratch in Z80 for the ColecoVision, with a new town drawn in the ColecoVision's own graphics at a wider view, a smoothly presented vampire, a dawn and daylight, night cards, opening and closing pictures, and optional speech. The rules were checked frame by frame against the original.
