In 1983, Coleco announced *Cranston Manor* as part of its ambitious lineup of Adventure Super Game Packs for the ADAM Family Computer System. Originally developed by Sierra On-Line for the Apple II, this mysterious graphical adventure was assigned Coleco product number **7703** and promoted as an enhanced adventure for the ADAM. Unfortunately, the game never received a confirmed commercial release. Now, more than four decades later, we're working to bring this forgotten Coleco title to life! ### Enter Cranston Manor... If You Dare! Old man Cranston was one of the wealthiest—and greediest—men who ever lived. Determined that nobody would inherit his fortune, he concealed 16 valuable treasures throughout his sprawling estate. Your mission is to enter the mysterious manor, explore its many rooms, navigate dangerous underground passages, solve challenging puzzles, and recover the hidden treasures. But Cranston Manor is no ordinary mansion. Strange creatures, mysterious characters, hidden passages, and unexpected dangers await those brave enough to venture inside. ### Reimagined for the Coleco ADAM Our goal is to recreate *Cranston Manor* as the Super Game Pack Coleco might have delivered in 1984. Using the original Sierra adventure as our foundation, we're developing a native ADAM version that preserves the game's recognizable locations, artwork, puzzles, and atmosphere while taking full advantage of the computer's capabilities. **Planned features include:** - Faithful reconstruction of the original Sierra graphical adventure. - Enhanced, full-color graphics optimized for the Coleco ADAM. - Exploration of the original manor, grounds, caves, and underground locations. - The original adventure's puzzles, objects, and 16 hidden treasures, subject to verification against the original program. - Full ADAM keyboard support, including SmartKey shortcuts. - Optional joystick and controller keypad navigation. - Save and restore functionality. - Planned disk and Digital Data Pack editions, subject to technical feasibility. - Authentic Coleco-era Super Game Pack presentation. ### A Piece of Coleco History Unlike many modern homebrew games, *Cranston Manor* has a genuine connection to Coleco's original software plans. The game appeared in Coleco's 1983 ADAM promotional literature as **Adventure Super Game Pack #7703**, and surviving packaging imagery shows how Coleco intended to present the title. Our reconstruction draws upon that historical material, along with the original Apple II adventure, to create a version that feels at home alongside Coleco's classic ADAM software. **Development Status:** Research completed; technical reconstruction and graphics development underway. *Cranston Manor is an independently developed historical reconstruction project, not an original unreleased Coleco program or recovered Coleco prototype.*
